You want rugged Alaska. The untamed beauty it’s known for, without a concrete jungle in sight. You want to elope in the middle of fresh air and feel just as wild as the landscape surrounding you. This package is for that bride and groom. You want to be wild, chaotic, adventurous, exclusive and different. Yet…you also want beautiful dresses and all the right makeup. You want a first look, and an epic moment of walking the aisle. This package isn’t offered anywhere else, so let me tell you all about it.
You begin by meeting me and your private guide in Palmer, Ak! With our partner, Alaska Backcountry Adventure Tours. Here you will arrive in your comfy warm clothes and be provided with “gear”. Such as clothing you can wear over your outfits to keep clean. Long Boots (we go through some deep water), gloves and a helmet! (Brides will be offered a helmet that doesn’t touch the front of their faces so that eye makeup will stay good!). Then you’ll load up into your side by side vehicle and begin a 20 mile trek to the toe of Knik Glacier.
During this portion of the ride, enjoy the views! We take 1/2 breaks with some snacks and water and picturesque views. I won’t really have my camera out for this portion as our main goal is to get to the glacier this morning.
So how do we make this adventure, a wedding? When we arrive at the glacier, couples will have the option to do a cold plunge into the glacier and refresh their senses. Perfect for a mind reset, and one heck of a bucket list item. Our guide will set up 2 tents (Unless couples prefer to get ready together). Inside these tents you’ll find a table, mirror and chair. So each of you can get ready however you want. You can bring whatever you want on our tour, so brides can do their own makeup at this point, and put on that beautiful wedding gown. We will also have portable power stations to plug in any products if needed. However, I encourage embracing simple looks and the chaos of the adventure 🙂 I can offer a couple different braids for brides to do something whimsical with their hair!
Couples can choose to hire a makeup artist to tag along for the day as well! Let me know if this is an option you want to add!
This is when it gets real. When both of you are ready, we set you up for a beautiful and breathtaking first look at each other. Where you can embrace the first time that day being in wedding attire, being right next to an ancient glacier and snow capped mountains. Then we will begin the most important part of the entire day. Our guide or myself will be your officiant for the day. In a quick ceremony that highlights all the important parts. You’ll exchange vows and a first kiss as a married duo!
Even though this is an adventure, you still get a reception! We will set up a small sweet spot for the two of you to enjoy a HOT campfire lunch that Alaska Backcountry Adventure Tours offers, along with any drink you wish us to bring. Although a cup of hot cocoa is the best! You’ll enjoy this followed by cupcakes to celebrate! While things get packed up, we will capture some epic shots of you two along the toe of Knik Glacier!
The final adventure is all encompassing of Alaska. It’s dusty, woodsy, wet, dirty, chaotic…and beautiful. Couples will begin our trek back to base whether in their outfits (which make for some epic adventurous photos) or they can choose to change into a different set of clothes they are willing to dirty for a perfect day 🙂 We will stop 3 times along our way back. You will get photos with epic snow capped mountains in the backdrop, photos inside the beautiful Alaskan forests that are lush with greens. This adventure is all about embracing the mess. It might be windy, it might be cold, It might be muddy and raining…either way, you’re going to have one heck of a gallery to tell everyone about.
You’ll arrive back at base and do our final piece…sign the marriage license! Now that you’re covered in dirt and kisses and promises of forever…put that pen to paper and your day is officially wrapped up!

- Epic exit from the reception in a Helicopter. Need those shots on top of the ice? We can add this pickup from our ceremony spot, or at the end of the day when we return! Alaska Backcountry Adventure Tours partners with Outbound Heli company that makes this an easy add on!
- For those brides who want the full glamour, you can add on a tag along makeup artist that will come for the ceremony makeup, and touch up for each location stop.
- Full rental set up, you want a mini reception setup that’s got all the fancy everything? We work with some amazing local companies that can line up some great rental gear that we can take with us!
